10 year plans

I cannot say where I'll be in 10 years. If you asked me a YEAR ago where I would be in a year, it'd be a million miles from here I am now, so I'm not gonna even think about 10 years.

HOWEVER, I do have some goals within the next, say, 2 years that I wanna achieve...

One is getting a HNC/Degree in TV Production. I'm applying for the course now, so hopefully I can start this September.

Second, I've written a feature Sci-FI silm, and I want that made. It'll take time and lots of planning, but I'd say it'll be an "active" project within the next 2 years... I'll keep you posted.

3. Be in a paid job where I enjoy the work... I'd love to be in TV production somewhere, making films on the side.

Well what can i say , september 11th, Tony Blair, the gulf , geprge bush , ken livingstone, the congestion charge, 20th aniversary of 1984 , Diet coke with Lemon, Immigration.

have all to blame for me not getting my film in time for this years entries for the Palm d'or,

Back then MI was going to be a Hammer Head Horror, shot in no more than 14 days. but halfway through filming i changed tactics. (also the film was originally budgeted for ?5000 ho ho ho)

I dont think im doing too bad, three quarters of the way through my megatrojerian feature, clocked up lots of other low budget credits, got two Hollywood credits and a third in the cards for this year.

Well, my dream is to have a movie in the official cannes selection, and my big dream is for one of my films to win the Palme D'or.

But realistically, in ten years time I'd like to be considered as a decent pop promo/shorts director. It didn't harm Spike Jonzes career, and, if my scripts don't get bought right away, I'll be looking to do that as a way of experiance.

In ten years time I would like to have honed my skills, developed many new ones and have as much as possible experience under my belt.

But I think I can sum it up more neatly. In ten years time, I would like to be content.

I kinda hate these 'welcome back to reality' topics. "you're growing old - it's a bitch, huh?".

Anyways, I'd like to live in the Fiji Islands with my pretty wife and have a couple of kids, and surf my life away. As a job I'd be more than happy to work as some sort of silly director or producer over there - as long as it pays the bills.

I'd also like to have at least one single feature made in Holland. And I need to get laid with a couple a more girls as well.
